Every competition now has its rules on the website

Every league and tournament on the site now has a Rules page, linked from the competition's page and from the team entry form.

The rules follow the FIBA Official Basketball Rules 2026, which came into force worldwide on 1 October 2026, and are filled in from each competition's settings: the playing time, points for a win and a loss, roster size, entry fee and deadline. 3x3 events follow the FIBA 3x3 rules and event terms. Each organiser adds its own rules for its competition.

What changed in the 2026 rules

• The unsportsmanlike foul is replaced by two fouls: the disruptive foul, which does not count towards disqualification, and the flagrant foul, which does.
• Technical fouls are now in two categories. A player is disqualified for two category 1 technical fouls, two flagrant fouls, or one of each.
• Clearer rules on when a player is in the act of shooting, and when a player may start a new dribble.
• More situations the Instant Replay System can review, including throw-ins in the last 2 minutes.

The league table

Teams level on points are now separated as FIBA sets out: first by the games between them, then by points difference and points scored. A team that forfeits a game gets no classification points for it.
